Contributing your membership online saves postage!
I'm writing to request your 2020 annual membership contribution to urgently intensify CFPA’s organizing in this critical election year!
CFPA asks all members to renew, and others to join, early each year. Receiving membership dues early in the year greatly helps with our budgeting and cash flow. So please click here to renew NOW!
Your membership offers unique benefits. You’ll be sent Coalition Update, our periodic newsletter, can register for member-only events like the Annual Membership Dinner, and be eligible for substantial member discounts for CFPA events like the Annual Conference for Peace.
We face historic challenges in 2020, as Donald Trump recklessly risks major military escalation and war with Iran, and now seeks re-election. Despite the House passing critical peace legislation that would put a check on Trump, the US Senate has failed to pass, and in most cases, even to hold a vote on nearly all these bills.
The good news is that since 1995, CFPA has pioneered a highly effective Peace Voter (PV) campaign with proven results to maximize our peacemaking impact on elections. In 2018, our PV campaign helped replace three incumbent US Representatives who were poor on our issues with strong pro-peace candidates.
Already we are scheduling Candidate Briefings by CFPA experts and organizational leaders for major party candidates in swing races in our region! We will follow that with Candidate Questionnaires. Then we will culminate the PV campaign by publishing Peace Voter Guides in targeted races.
Besides this highest priority Peace Voter 2020 campaign, we urgently need the support of your 2020 membership for:
- CFPA’s campaign for Diplomacy, Not War with Iran and North Korea. This year already started with the rash and ill-advised drone assassination of an Iranian general. Escalation toward war was averted mostly by a relatively restrained Iranian response so far, but the danger could re-escalate quickly.
- CFPA’s Ceasefire NJ project. In 2019, CFPA spearheaded passage of six new gun safety laws in NJ, building on 2018’s record total of eight new laws! We need your support to build on that to pass even more laws in NJ, and lay the groundwork for stronger national regulations.
To meet the above challenges and take full advantage of our proven approaches in 2020, we need to increase our financial strength by asking you to increase your financial support. An important thing we’ve learned over the past 25 years of doing Peace Voter campaigns is that starting early is hugely important—so we need your help NOW to do that!
Pledges, donations, and memberships are essential to giving us the finances and political clout to maximize our impact for peace. In the past, some candidates specifically asked during the Candidate Briefing about our organization size, so your renewal helps increase our impact!
One option is a Lifetime Membership for a one-time contribution of $1,000. Over 30 members have done this since we started offering it in 2014.
You can also increase your support by becoming a monthly or quarterly pledger. Pledging is an easy and efficient way to substantially increase your support for the work of CFPA by spreading your donation over time.
To make your monthly or quarterly pledge charged to your credit card, click here and then use the second option after you click the Join/Renew button. If you later need to adjust or discontinue your pledge, just contact our office.
However, if you simply can’t become a Lifetime Member or pledger, click here to contribute your annual membership!
CFPA’s suggested annual membership dues remain $50 for an individual and $80 for a household. Our sliding scale options, after these suggested dues, remain available. We don’t want anyone to not be a member if they can’t afford the suggested dues.
We also encourage you to click here and scroll to the second button to make a tax-deductible contribution* over and above the membership—which would really help us address the increased challenges in this crucial election year.
We can only build on our successes and meet the challenges in this 2020 election year if we each do our part, starting with contributing as generously as possible.
Make your annual commitment to intensify CFPA’s peacemaking TODAY! Please click here to make your 2020 pledge, lifetime or regular membership.
