On Monday, June 21, CFPA Executive Director Bob Moore spoke at a Rally in front of the NJ State House Annex in support of NJ State legislation to give subpoena power to Civilian Review Boards in which citizens investigate concerns about police actions in their jurisdiction. Assemblywoman Angela McKnight, the prime sponsor in the NJ Assembly, spoke, as did Newark Mayor Ras Baraka. Besides CFPA, other speakers represented People's Organization for Progress, ACLU, Salvation and Social Justice, and immigrant groups. Survivors and family members of victims of police brutality in NJ also spoke.
