On Monday, May 21st, around 75 gun violence prevention activists showed up to support and/or testify in favor of gun safety bills being heard by the NJ Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee. In comparison, only one or two NRA supporters were there, and no one testified in opposition to the bills! 6 out of 7 of the bills passed through Committee. One was held for adjustments, but should proceed soon.

On April 26, 2018, Coalition for Peace Action led a delegation of fifteen NJ and PA peace leaders and experts to meet with representatives in Congress. Such a strong showing of constituents who care about peace! Thanks to all who traveled with us or supported from home.

The group met with staff members from the offices of Sen. Menendez, Sen. Booker, Sen. Casey, Rep. Dwight Evans (D - PA02), Rep. Leonard Lance (R - NJ07), and Rep. Frank Pallone (D - NJ06). We also met with Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D - NJ12), in person - see photos below!

In the meetings, CFPA members emphasized the importance of speaking out for diplomacy with Korea, upholding the Iran Nuclear Agreement, resisting unncessary and costly nuclear "modernization," and ending U.S. involvement in humanitarian crises in Syria and Yemen.
